Diagnosis of autism (ASD) in children in Warsaw

What does an autism diagnosis consist of?

Autism diagnosis (ASD) is a process that assesses how a child functions in the areas of communication, social relationships and behavior. It is not based on a single meeting or a single test - a broader view of the child's development is important.

At Pineapple Therapy, we conduct diagnosis in a manner tailored to the child. We take care of a calm atmosphere, gradual contact building and observation in as natural situations as possible.

The process includes consultation with parents, observation of the child and, as appropriate, the use of appropriate diagnostic tools. On this basis, we prepare an opinion with recommendations for further support.

What does diagnosis look like in practice?

Autism diagnosis does not involve performing tasks at a table. The vast majority of the session time is spent moving and playing. We make sure that the child feels safe and has time to get used to the new place.

During the meeting, we check language, intellectual and social skills. This allows us to take a more holistic view of the child's development and exclude the most common disorders that may give a similar picture of functioning as the autism spectrum.

A parent can be present during meetings if it helps the child feel more confident and calm.

Not sure if a diagnosis is needed? Start with a short consultation - we can help you assess the situation and plan your next steps.

What's next after the diagnosis?

Diagnosis is the first step - it helps to understand the child's needs and plan further support.

Based on the results, we can suggest specific forms of work, such as ABA therapy, speech therapy or educational support. If the child is already benefiting from other activities, we help structure the recommendations and fit them into daily functioning.

If necessary, we also support in the preparation of documentation for the psychological-educational counseling center (PPP) and further formalities.

  • social skills training (TUS)
  • ABA therapy
