Physiotherapy in children - Warsaw

What is physiotherapy?

Pediatric physiotherapy is support for infants and children who have difficulties in motor development, muscle tone or coordination.

It's not just about exercise. In practice, we work on making the child function better in everyday situations - when playing, walking, sitting or performing simple tasks.

This may include:

  • regulation of muscle tone
  • Supporting motor development (turning, sitting, walking)
  • improve balance and coordination
  • work on posture
  • Increasing independence in daily activities

Therapy is always individually tailored. We work at the child's pace, taking into account the child's needs and abilities.

How does physiotherapy for children proceed with us?

What does physiotherapy look like?

Children's physiotherapy takes place in a calm, predictable structure, adapted to the child's age and abilities. The classes take the form of active work - often through play - so that the child can learn new skills naturally.

In practice, we focus on specific skills that a child needs in everyday situations:

  • Change of position (turning, sitting down, standing up)
  • moving - crawling, walking, running
  • Balance and coordination during play
  • maintaining correct posture

We place great emphasis on making the child feel safe and having the opportunity to gradually become accustomed to new challenges. This makes it easier for him to transfer the skills he has learned to everyday life.

Physiotherapy in English

We also provide physiotherapy for children in English - we work with international and bilingual families.

This allows the child to participate in therapy in a language that is more natural and comfortable for them. This is especially important for children who may have difficulty understanding commands or adapting in a new environment.

Our focus is on functional work - so that the skills developed in class can be used on a daily basis, whether at home, in kindergarten or school.

We also support parents in English so that they can easily continue the exercises and recommendations at home.

How to start physiotherapy?

Write to us or call us - briefly describe the child's situation and difficulties.
We will suggest whether physiotherapy would be a good step and suggest the first possible appointments.

Physiotherapy or sensory integration?

The two forms of support often complement each other, but address different areas of child development.

Physiotherapy mainly focuses on motor development and body function. It will be a good choice if difficulties such as:

  • delays in motor development (turning, sitting, walking)
  • Decreased or increased muscle tension
  • balance and coordination problems
  • incorrect posture
  • Walking on tiptoe or an unusual way of moving around

Sensory integration (SI) deals with a child's processing of stimuli and responses to the environment. It is worth considering if your child:

  • is hypersensitive or insensitive to touch, sounds or movement
  • avoids or seeks intense stimuli
  • Has difficulty concentrating and regulating emotions
  • Has problems with movement planning despite normal muscle strength

If you are not sure where to start - we can help you choose the right form of support or offer a combination of both approaches.
