Free screening project implemented in cooperation with care and education facilities.
Based on standardized questionnaires completed by parents.

The project does not require contact between the speech therapist and the child,
Screening is not a complete diagnosis,
serves to identify early risks of language and communication difficulties.
The project is designed for Polish-speaking and English-speaking children.
Who is this project for?
The project is addressed to:
nurseries and kindergartens,
public and non-public establishments,
establishments working with monolingual and bilingual children,
Teams interested in implementing a screening procedure for communication development.
What is a speech therapy screening?
Speech therapy screening uses simple tools to help check whether a child’s communication development is within a typical framework, or whether further specialized consultation is worth considering.
Screening:
is not a diagnosis,
does not replace the speech therapy examination,
does not result in an opinion or ruling.
Its purpose is to catch early signals that may indicate the need for further observation or consultation.
Tools
The project is based on:
Standardized and recommended screening tools (LUI),
questionnaires based on parental observation,
tools tailored to monolingual and bilingual children.
Questionnaires can be in electronic or paper form, depending on the organization of the project.
Benefits for the facility
Participation in the project allows the facility:
Strengthen cooperation with parents by offering them professional, external support,
Increase parents’ sense of security and satisfaction with early, structured information on communication development,
identify potential developmental difficulties among wards earlier, without involving the child in additional testing,
Sort out how to respond to signals reported by parents or teachers,
build the image of the institution as being aware of children’s development and open to cooperation with specialists,
relieve the team of individual consultation and interpretation of difficult development topics.
How is the project going?
Steps to follow:
1 The facility shall apply for participation in the project.
2. Pineapple Therapy sends information to parents for forwarding.
3. interested parents fill out questionnaires (PL or ENG).
4 The Pineapple Therapy team analyzes the results.
5 Parents receive individual feedback.
What is the role of the facility?
The institution’s participation in the project is organizational in nature.
Facility:
does not conduct an examination of the child,
does not interpret the results,
does not bear diagnostic responsibility,
Provides parents with information about the project,
mediates organizational communication, if required.
What do parents receive?
Parents of participating children receive:
Individual feedback on the area of communication,
Clear recommendations for next steps,
information provided in a neutral manner, with no pressure to take therapy, possibly indicating the possibility of public assistance.
Languages
The project is implemented for children:
Polish-speaking,
English-speaking.
Materials and information are provided in a language appropriate to the family.
Who is implementing the project
The project is implemented by Pineapple Therapy s.c. – a team of specialists with experience in working with children of nursery and preschool age, including children functioning in a monolingual and bilingual environment.
