Consultation for parents Warsaw | Child psychologist
What are psychological consultations?
Consultations for parents are meetings where we look together at the child's difficulties and look for specific, implementable solutions.
We can talk about behavior, emotions, peer relations, learning difficulties or daily functioning at home, among other things. We help sort out the situation and put it into perspective - without judging and without unnecessary theory.
During consultations, we focus on what can be done "here and now" - what changes to make, how to respond in difficult situations and when to consider additional support.
Often, just one meeting can establish next steps and give parents a greater sense of clarity and control over the situation.

Who are the parent consultations for?
Consultation for parents is particularly helpful when:
The child's behavior is troubling or difficult to control
The child experiences strong emotions and does not cope with them
difficulties in relationships and contacts with others appear
School reports problems (concentration, functioning in the classroom)
not sure if it's a "stage" or something that needs support
tensions, conflicts or difficult situations often arise at home

Consultation in English
and experience working with international families
We also provide consultations for parents in English and regularly work with international families. This allows us to adapt the way we communicate and the proposed solutions to the realities of the child's functioning in a bilingual environment.
We understand that a child's difficulties often arise in the context of different languages, education systems and parenting styles. In such situations, it is particularly important to look at the problem more broadly - taking into account the entire environment of the child.
If necessary, we can prepare a summary of the consultation in English, and help to provide information to the school or other specialists.

Consultation for parents vs. other forms of support
Consultation for parents is often the first step - to sort out the situation and decide whether further support is needed.
In many cases, implementing specific changes at home is sufficient and there is no need to start therapy.
However, if the difficulties are more complex, during the consultation we help select the appropriate form of further assistance - such as diagnosis, psychotherapy, social skills training or other support tailored to the child's needs.
This way, parents don't have to figure out for themselves what will be the best solution.
