Diagnosis of autism, ADHD and developmental difficulties in Warsaw

What is the diagnosis based on?

Diagnosis of a child is a process that allows us to assess the child's development, functioning and causes of observed difficulties. At Pineapple Therapy, we provide diagnosis of autism (ASD), ADHD and other developmental difficulties in children and adolescents in Warsaw.

The process includes consultation with parents, observation of the child and, as needed, the use of appropriate diagnostic tools. We analyze, among other things, communication, behavior, attention, social functioning and learning.

On this basis, we can determine whether the child's difficulties fit into the picture of the autism spectrum, ADHD or other developmental disorders, as well as identify further directions for support.

The diagnosis ends with the preparation of an opinion, which clearly describes the child's functioning and includes practical recommendations. The document can be used at the psychological and pedagogical counseling center (PPP), kindergarten or school.

What does the diagnosis process look like?

What does diagnosis look like in practice?

Diagnosis is tailored to the child - it is not based on a single scheme or rigid procedure. We make sure that the child feels safe and can function as naturally as possible.

At first, we focus on establishing contact and creating a comfortable atmosphere. Often this takes the form of playing together or a free activity that allows the child to become accustomed to the new place.

Only in the next stage do we gradually introduce more targeted tasks and situations that help assess the child's functioning in different areas.

A parent can be present during meetings - especially if the child needs extra support or a sense of security.

The scope of the diagnosis is selected individually - depending on the child's difficulties, it may involve autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD or other areas of development.

Summary

Diagnosis of autism, ADHD or other developmental difficulties is often the first step to better understand the child's needs and plan further support. It allows us to sort out previous doubts, select appropriate therapy and determine the direction of activities in the kindergarten or school. We select each process individually - based on the real functioning of the child, not a single scheme.
